About Us

Welcome to Kumi Sculptures

At Kumi Sculptures, art is more than a craft — it’s a language of the soul. Founded with a vision to bring emotions, culture, and imagination to life through sculpture, we create works that speak to both heart and history.

Each sculpture is meticulously crafted to reflect depth, realism, and storytelling — bridging the past and present, Africa and the world, tradition and innovation. Our artistic journey celebrates the human experience, capturing the beauty, struggle, and faith that define our shared humanity.

From monumental public pieces to intimate studio works, our creations are a blend of skill, symbolism, and spirit. We believe that true art transcends boundaries — connecting people, cultures, and generations.

Our studio continues to evolve as a space of creativity, reflection, and inspiration — where raw material meets divine imagination, and where every piece carries a story worth remembering.

Whether you’re a collector, curator, or art enthusiast, Kumi Sculptures invites you to explore a world where form meets meaning — and imagination becomes tangible.

About Samuel Kumi

Born in 1983 in Berekum, a city in the Brong Ahafo Region of Ghana West Africa, Kumi Samuel is a sculptor living and working in Kumasi, Ghana. His B.F.A in Sculpture was received from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.

Samuel Kumi is currently in the USA. As part of his reason being here in the USA, he’s looking for avenues to share his creative skills and talents. He is currently working on a theme ‘juxtaposing the superimposed’ which comprises of a series of sculptures inspired by conflicting ideas from his African background and that in the USA born out of the sociocultural differences in these two settings.

The Hallmark of his work is the realistic rendition of subject through which he seeks to revive the indigenous/cultural and ethnic subjects with a global and artistic discourse. His commissioned sculptures are seen in various parts of Ghana. His works has drawn the attention from media such as CNN Africa, Publication platforms (such as Inspire Afrika, Afrika Me, Artiyo, Pulse and others).

His practice also provides a new dialectical and conceptual context and direction for the preservation of some of those cultural activities that have seemingly lost their glory or cultural relevance, and hence serves as a reminder to the people of their ancestry history.
