Born in 1983 in Berekum, a city in the Brong Ahafo Region of Ghana West Africa, Kumi Samuel is a sculptor living and working in Kumasi, Ghana. His B.F.A in Sculpture was received from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.
Samuel Kumi is currently in the USA. As part of his reason being here in the USA, he’s looking for avenues to share his creative skills and talents. He is currently working on a theme ‘juxtaposing the superimposed’ which comprises of a series of sculptures inspired by conflicting ideas from his African background and that in the USA born out of the sociocultural differences in these two settings.
